Basic Procedure of Dental Implant Treatment

Stage 1 Surgery

Surgical Steps:
Traditional Approach: The implant is submerged beneath the mucosal tissue, requiring a second-stage surgery for exposure.
Incise the soft tissue to expose the bone surface.
Prepare the implant site through sequential drilling.
Place the implant into the prepared osteotomy.
Stage 2 Surgery

Time Interval: Performed 3–6 months after Stage 1 Surgery.
Surgical Content:
Incise the mucosa to expose the implant.
Place the healing abutment.
Suture the wound and wait for 2 weeks for soft tissue healing and shaping.
3.Impression Taking or Intraoral Scanning and Shadow selection

Requirements: Implant-specific impression copings are mandatory.
Material Selection: Silicone rubber impression material is preferred. Shadow selection: Match the color and shadow with the adjacent teeth
4.Crown Delivery
Retention Methods: Cement-retained fixation; Screw-retained fixat
